July Picnic

We are pleased to announce another summer KLOB picnic for 2011. This time we will be meeting at Prairie View Park which is just south of Portage towards Vicksburg. We have Shelter #9 reserved for our group and will begin the event around noon and start wrapping up around 7pm. The park has many activities including volleyball, a beach, fishing and more.

Just as before, the site is alcohol friendly so feel free to BRING YOUR OWN HOMEBREW to share with your fellow members. We plan to do some grilling but we encourage everyone to pack a few snacks to share as well. There's a small entrance fee per car so all the more reason to CARPOOL AND HAVE A DESIGNATED DRIVER. All non-member guests are welcome including friends, family and co-workers.

Notice: We know there were a number of members interested in bringing their brewing equipment and potentially doing one or more batches of beer at the picnic event. Unfortunately, the park staff has asked that we not bring any gear in the interest of everyone's safety. We will try to schedule a group-brew event in the very near future. Stay tuned!

Great Taste Tickets are In!

We received our allotted 25 tickets from The Madison Homebrewers and Tasters Guild last week. If you purchased one or more tickets earlier this spring, they will be available at the July meeting on Monday the 18th. If you can not attend that meeting, the tickets will also be available for pickup at Tempo Vino winery in downtown Kalamazoo (ask for VP Alex).

If you have a set of tickets reserved but now cannot attend the event, PLEASE DO NOT ATTEMPT TO RESELL YOUR TICKET. The MHTG takes great lengths to assure tickets are not scalped and will end the exclusive sales arrangement with our club if they find our members reselling the tickets. If you need to part ways with your tickets, please contact an officer and we will try to find another member who can use them.
