KLOB October events

Hey KLOBBERS!

October has some nifty events for us.

Jimmy's Peanut Farm Peanut Butter Porter
Several years ago, Presidential Brewing Company held a contest which the KLOB won with a peanut butter porter.
Tomorrow, October 10, Presidential Brewing Company will have Jimmy's Peanut Farm Peanut Butter Porter on tap.

"Ladies and gentlemen of the electorate, raise a glass to Jimmy's Peanut Farm Peanut Butter Porter, a nod to the 39th President’s nutty legacy! Born on a Georgia farm where his family grew peanuts since the 1920s, Jimmy Carter turned their small operation into a thriving business before leading the nation. Our 6.2% ABV Peanut Butter Porter packs rich chocolate and peanut butter flavors, smoother than a State of the Union address. Whether you’re toasting history or just escaping the daily grind, grab it on tap or in cans at Presidential Brewing Co, 8302 Portage Road, Portage, MI – because this brew’s a landslide winner!"

October Monthly Meeting
Fall is here, and so are the hops! This month we’ll explore what makes hops more than just bittering agents – citrus, pine, fruit, spice, even a little surprise or two.

Our monthly meeting will be on Monday, October 20, 2025 held at Brewery Outré, 579 E Ransom St, Kalamazoo, MI 49007 at 7:00 PM.
Art will give a presentation “Unlocking the Secrets of Hops”, on hop growth, aroma, and flavor chemistry.

  • Learn how to balance hops for complex, layered beer.
  • Tactile experiment – because brewing is hands-on (and a little messy).
  • Open discussion and homebrew sharing – bring yours for feedback and swapping stories.

Seasonal Twist:
With October in the air, we’ll keep things light and festive. Bring homebrew to share, and if you’ve got a pumpkin ale, Oktoberfest, or cleverly named seasonal brew, this is the perfect time to share it.
