What’s Hiding in the Dark Corners of Your Basement?
Every homebrewer has one.
A box. A shelf. A forgotten corner of the basement where bottles quietly age. Maybe it’s a beer from last year. Maybe it’s from five years ago. Maybe it’s something you brewed so long ago you barely remember the recipe.
This month we are going on a KLOB Cellar Raid.
Dig through those dusty cases and bring a few bottles that have been sitting around for a while. Together we will crack them open and see what time has done.
Some beers might have become beautifully complex with age.
Others may have… well… taken a different journey.
That is part of the fun.
We will taste them together and talk about what happened. Oxidation, aging, carbonation changes, and whether that barleywine from 2016 has turned into liquid gold or liquid regret.
And yes, we are prepared.
We will have a bucket ready for opening bottles because experience tells us that a few of these cellar dwellers might turn into foam geysers the moment the cap comes off.

- Older homebrews are the stars of the night. Bring a few bottles you are curious about.
- Bring Homebrew to Share
- Fresh beer is always welcome too.
- Bring a Friend
- Non members are always welcome. Anyone interested in brewing or fermentation will feel right at home.
