Our Christmas Party is coming up quick, we'll be meeting at Brewery Outré (567 E Ransom St, Kalamazoo, MI 49007) on December 16 at 7:00 pm.
This year's style theme is pastry stouts, so bring along any sweet or dessert stouts that you want to share. Barrel-aged stouts will be welcomed as well.
Please bring a dish or dessert to pass and share with everyone.
We'll be honing your sensory skills this month as we continue with the Siebel Institute sensory training kit. We'll be at Brewery Outré (567 E Ransom St, Kalamazoo, MI 49007) on November 18 at 7:00pm. In October, we tested three of the flavors and there is another three left. If you kept notes, you know which ones remain.
It's time to sharpen you sensory skills! We'll have a Siebel Institute sensory training kit at the October meeting at at Brewery Outré (567 E Ransom St, Kalamazoo, MI 49007) on October 21 at 7:00pm. The sensory kit has six flavors and we've decided to split them across both the October and November meetings, however, we're not telling you which is being sampled until afterwards.
For those who wish to study for the sensory test, below is a video from Siebel Institute for each of the flavors.
Scott at Husted Farm Market has given us a date of October 5th to come and get some fresh cider. The price will be $4/gallon.
Bring your buckets, fermentors, or whichever container you wish to collect your cider.
If you are unable to stop by, there is often a seconding pressing a bit later.
Husted Farm Market is located at (9191 W Main St, Kalamazoo, MI 49009) and is opened on Saturdays from 9:00am to 6:00pm.
September Meeting
Following up with Jason's presentation on Festbiers last month, Geoff will be going to the other end of the color spectrum of German lagers with Schwarzbiers. In addition to a discussion on the style, there will be a few samples from local breweries. The September meeting will be at Brewery Outré (567 E Ransom St, Kalamazoo, MI 49007) on September 16 at 7:00pm for our monthly meeting!
The 28th KLOB Roast is approaching this Saturday. If you haven't bought your tickets, you can buy them Saturday at the roast. If you will buying your ticket on Saturday, please let Geoff know (ggroff42@gmail.com) so that a sufficient quantity of grillables will be available.

Distillation Dazzle! Michael and Kevin have a thrilling distillation demonstration planned, and trust us—you don't want to miss it!
When? The fun officially kicks off at 7 PM, but come early to share your homebrew and treat yourself to a taste of their scrumptious kitchen menu at the original location.
Our next meeting is a week away and Final Gravity has welcomed us to tour their establishment, including their production facility. Final Gravity's main location is at 103 N Phelps St, Decatur, MI 49045 and their production facility is opposite on W Delaware (M-51).
